Diners get into vicious brawl with restaurant staff over 100 yuan

To ring in the Chinese New Year last night, a group of revelers in Jiangsu province got into a brawl with restaurant staff after claiming that they were overcharged.

Surveillance footage from the Huai’an city restaurant shows a chaotic scene of punches, kicks, shoves, and slaps being exchanged. Amid the chaos, a woman in a red shirt tries to some damage with some item, instead she is disarmed by a man in black and body slammed to the ground — hard.

According to the local police, the ruckus began over a dispute regarding the bill — with the diners claiming they had been overcharged by 100 yuan and restaurant staff insisting that they had not.

The fracas resulted in two minor injuries and a police investigation.
