Yet another Chinese kindergarten teacher has been fired for hitting kids, along with a coworker who filmed the beatings.

In footage that has been uploaded online, young children at a village kindergarten in Ningxia are seen standing in line, waiting for their turn to be scolded and slapped by their teacher.

One clip shows the teacher viciously strike a boy’s palm with a brush, bringing tears to his eyes. Another clip shows the teacher hitting a girl in the palm with the brush. The sound of the slap can be heard throughout the classroom.

When asked, a kindergartner says that the teacher beats her regularly and that the blows hurt.

After the beatings were exposed, the teacher was quickly fired. However, so too was another teacher who filmed the video clips.

The kindergarten said that it had sacked the second teacher because she had merely filmed the beatings without stepping in to stop them. But the teacher has insisted that she did try to stop the beatings and eventually decided to film them in order to expose the abuse.

Abuse at China’s kindergartens became one of the biggest stories of last year following allegations from parents that a private Beijing kindergarten had been drugging their children and subjecting them to sexual abuse.

The fact that police concluded that parents had fabricated almost all of these claims did little to help other parents’ peace of mind as new child abuse scandals continue to emerge with horrifying regularity in China, particularly in rural areas.
