Mom throws 4-year-old son out of 4th floor window after argument with ex-husband

Fortunately, the boy survived the fall, landing on some foam boxes

A woman in Hunan province has made a rather strong entry into this year’s contest of world’s worst mom by allegedly tossing her 4-year-old out of a 4th floor window after an argument with her ex-husband.

The day before chucking her child out of the window, the 35-year-old woman surnamed Zhang had finalized her divorce. In the settlement, she was awarded custody of the couple’s 6-year-old son, while her ex-husband was placed in charge of the younger sibling, reports Btime.com.

According to the ex-husband, Zhang had then asked for permission to spend some time with their 4-year-old, taking him with her to the guest house that she was staying at in Wugang county. However, the following day, as he drove over to pick up his son, the divorced couple got into heated argument over the phone, which ended when Zhang’s line suddenly went silent.

When the man finally arrived at his ex-wife’s 4th floor residence, the boy was nowhere to be found, allegedly having been thrown out of the window by his vengeful mother.

Fortunately the kid’s 15-meter fall was cushioned somewhat by hitting electricity wires on the way down and landing on some foam boxes on the ground. He escaped the incident with only some cuts and bruises.

Meanwhile, Zhang has been detained by police who are investigating the matter.

The story can’t help but remind us of a viral incident which took place earlier this year with a Chengdu woman became public enemy number one in China after refusing to give a girl back her corgi and eventually dropping it out of a 6th floor window.

Originally, it was believed that the woman had tossed the dog out of the window in spite after the girl arrived at her door in an attempt to get it back. However, she later explained that she had not meant to kill the dog, but was trying to lower it from her apartment window with a rope and cloth when the pup came loose and plummeted to the ground.

The corgi was not as lucky as the kid, dying soon after impact.
