The “missing link” between humans and monkeys may finally have been discovered inside a zoo in Tianjin in the form of one monkey with the face of an extremely stressed-out human being.

The 18-year-old tufted (black-capped) capuchin has become an overnight sensation on the Chinese internet thanks to its strikingly human facial features and expressions of apparent dread and concern, which have left many netizens feeling somewhat unsettled.

Video of the little guy first Chinese social media last Monday. Since then more prospective paleoanthropologists have arrived to add to a growing collection of footage, documenting this primate’s various looks of foreboding.
