A tourist attraction in Hebei province recently learned why you should never offer up anything for free.
To celebrate International Women’s Day last Thursday, Xiangyang’s Tang Dynasty Studios granted all female visitors free admission to the park, while also offering half-off admission to men.
Here was the result:
By 9 am, 45,000 visitors had entered the park, which was filled to capacity and forced to close in the afternoon amid safety concerns.
Back in 2016, a struggling Shaanxi theme park attempted to increase attendance by offering free tickets. The plan ended up working a bit too well.
