WATCH: Road rage brawl breaks out on Shanghai’s Yan’an Elevated Road
Just another day on the road in Shanghai
A minor traffic incident boiled over into road rage in Shanghai on Monday afternoon, leading to a dramatic brawl on Yan’an Elevated Road.
The whole thing began when a gray van driven by a man surnamed Tao cut in front of a red vehicle driven by a man surnamed Gu at an expressway on-ramp.
Up on the elevated expressway, the two vehicles then took turns cutting each other off before finally coming to a stop in the middle of the road where the combatants exited their vehicles.
Tao and his female companion proceeded to gang up on Gu, who appeared to be getting the worst of it until his female companion also got out of the car and joined the fray.
From there, it was man vs. man and woman vs. woman as the fracas clearly turned Gu’s way. The brawl, which was caught on Gu’s dashcam, lasted for nearly two minutes before police arrived on the scene. Watch below:
In the aftermath of the incident, Gu will be detained for 10 days and fined 1,000 yuan for “picking a quarrel and making trouble,” Shine.cn reports. For illegally parking his car on an elevated road, he will also be fined 200 yuan and have six points deducted from his license.
Meanwhile, Tao will be detained for five days and fined 500 yuan for his part in the brawl and will be similarly punished for parking his car on an elevated road.
Both of the women will be fined 500 yuan for “beating others.”
