But working beside the pumps means that you have to be on guard, as drivers apparently have a troubling habit of taking off too early, while the gas nozzle is still stuck in their car.
Recent surveillance video from an Anhui gas station shows one brave attendant tried to prevent disaster as a white SUV started driving away with the gas hose still attached.
The woman reached out to try to pull the hose out just in the nick of time, but was unsuccessful and was instead sent sprawling to the ground while the fuel dispenser itself was also sent toppling over, fortunately not on top of her.
According to a Knews report, the attendant dislocated her shoulder in the incident. Meanwhile, police said that the woman behind the wheel of the SUV was new to this whole driving thing.
