Believing that her phone had been stolen, one woman decided to inconvenience thousands of commuters on Monday evening by standing between the doors of a Shanghai Metro Line 2 carriage and refusing to let the train depart.

A video of the hysterical woman arguing with subway staff and police has gone viral on Weibo, outraging netizens across the country. In the footage, the woman shouts, “It’s okay if you detain me, I’m the victim here!” To which one worker responds, “Your actions are making victims of thousands of other people.”

Subway staff told Btime.com that the woman managed to delay the train from departing Guanglan Road Station for 20 minutes before she was finally detained by police. It’s not clear what took so long.

According to Shine.cn, local authorities announced yesterday that the 31-year-old woman, surnamed Deng, had been fined 200 yuan for her actions… that oughta show her! Meanwhile, police are still searching for her stolen smartphone.

Earlier this year, a woman was slapped with a 2,000 yuan fine for delaying a high-speed train from departing a railway station in Anhui province. For at least four minutes, the woman stood in the train’s doorway, insisting that her husband was just about to arrive.
