WHAT IS THE SERIES ABOUT? Young Voices is a project created by the Helsinki Hub of the Global Shapers youth organization. The aim is to give an opportunity for young people to talk about topics that are interesting to them, share their knowledge, and to inspire you. In the project, we will be launching new episodes (podcasts or articles) every two weeks. In the series, we will cover a range of topics from sustainability and personal development to health tech and AI — topics that feel vital to young people.

“It doesn’t mean that you would never have a job here, there’s just a bit of difficulty. It is already difficult for a Finnish speaker — and then there is the added layer for the non-native speaker.”

In this episode Milda Dapkeviciute talks with Global Shapers Helsinki Hub members Anni Koponen and Apurva Ganoo about international graduates who want to start working in Finland. These two are active in a Shapers project to understand the difficulties that foreigners that look for work in Finland face. This is a very relevant topic in Finland today, as matters relating to the diversity of the workforce and the impact of an ageing population significantly impact Finnish societal structures and the image of Finland internationally.
