Primary Symbols of Kwanzaa
In my previous article “Celebrating Kwanzaa Through Art Part One” I briefly discussed what Kwanzaa is and included a list of the seven symbols that represent the principle of the day. In addition to the symbols that represent each principle of Kwanzaa there are also seven basic symbols and two supplemental symbols that represent the values and concepts that reflect African culture and are contributive to community building.
