A few months ago, COO and co-founder Rohan Le Page traveled to San Francisco to attend the Automated Vehicle Symposium, a trade show where he met with the main stakeholders of MOBI (Mobility Open Blockchain Initiative), and was representing ShareRing at their stand along with the MOBI team.

The trade show spanned over two days, featuring various speakers and stands from companies and businesses within the automotive industry, including but not limited to; Toyota Research Institute, Hyundai Mobis, SAE International and Virginia Tech Transportation Institute.

Rohan and the MOBI representatives spent their time workshopping their new and ongoing relationship together, as well as answering questions to event attendees who stopped by the stand.

A key takeaway for Rohan, was , “How the USA is on the right track heading to take on a truly autonomous vehicle stance. The calibre and audience numbers speaks volumes for the USA leading the drive into autonomous vehicles”.

At the end of August, ShareRing was joined by the rest of the MOBI team and other leading technology companies where Tim presented further guidance on car sharing, particularly showcasing ShareRing and Keaz Access’ to further the relationship ShareRing and MOBI have and how it can grow together in the future. “We can bring a lot of our experience with global car sharing into play”.

Tim highlighted the good work which has been done through Keaz, and presented a demo video of the ShareRing app to show how it can offer a global standard across the sharing economy. The presentation and demo touched on the topic of sovereign identity, where the user can control their own identity instead of giving other people (or rental providers) access to it. Tim noted, “It was great to discuss the ShareRing story and roadmap with the MOBI members. The level of questions after my presentation demonstrated a genuine enthusiasm for what we are working on”.
