ShareRing Attends the World Travel Market Expo in London
Recently, one of ShareRing’s co-founders Jane Sadler-Kidd, attended the World Travel Market Expo in London, one of the biggest trade shows in the travel industry.
Held at the London Excel Centre, the WTM trade show was a huge three day event, with exhibitors representing a wide variety of product sectors ranging from accomodation and hotel chains to reservation systems and travel agencies. The trade show floor this year was separated into regionally themed ‘inspiration zones’, each providing a great amount of new discoveries, information and key discussion points.
There were keynote speaking sessions, panel discussions, award sessions and plenty of networking events, all happening continuously throughout the three day show. A key research session presented by Euromonitor International, dove deep into the mega trends that are shaping the future of the travel world. You can find all the key speakers here, and the event programme here.
An aspect of the event that stood out the most was learning the technology trends within the market and how the travel industry is adapting and embracing them. With most regions and countries of the world represented, the information available was endless and the trade show was filled with like-minded people, all passionate about the travel industry and its’ future.
As a place for the sharing economy to thrive, it is important that ShareRing is part of the continuous growth in the travel industry and continuously explore the possibilities of travel within the sharing economy. The travel industry offers great opportunities for ShareRing to partner with existing consolidators and to provide a marketplace for the smaller providers. ShareRing hopes to exhibit at the 2019 World Travel Market Expo, fully embracing the travel industry and the sharing economy.
