4 easy steps to become successful on Sharesome
The purpose of this article is to explain in detail the features of Sharesome and how to use them efficiently, so that you can become more successful. Why should you try Sharesome? You get your own profile, a custom feed, content creators’ pages, and group-like moderated topics to discover specific content. Think of it as a mix of Twitter, Reddit, and Tumblr, but for adults only. Plus, there is no judgement, no deleted accounts, no shadowbanning, all in all, no discrimination against sexy people.
1. Profile and pay-sites
Let’s start with the basics. Like every other social media platform, you get a profile that you can personalize the way you like best. First of all, you should upload a profile picture and a cover photo (we call it banner). Maybe use the ones that you already have on other platforms, so that your fans can easily recognize you. If you applied to become a Verified Star, it’s a must that you have a short description about yourself displayed on your profile and at least one paysite. This way, we make sure that you are indeed a Star or working towards that goal.
How do you add a paysite, you ask? On the Settings page you’ll find a tab labeled Links. If you access that, you’re going to see a lot of fields, for multiple websites. Don’t panic! You don’t need to fill out every one of them, only the ones that you use. We also recommend that you add your Sharesome profile link to your other sites. This will not only help your profile grow, but fans will also discover your other social profiles and drive them to a safe and adult-friendly platform, where your sexy content will always be available and free of censorship.
2. Content management
You can choose to post you original content on your timeline or in the most relevant and popular Topics. We recommend using the Topics for two reasons: you reach the right audience and grow your profile faster than on any other social network. I actually tested this myself. I posted three different pictures in 3 different Topics and I got 60 followers in one day. It might not seem like a lot, especially for those of you who already have a large fan base on other sites, but just think about it for a minute. When you start on Twitter, for example, it’s much more difficult to become visible. You will gain those 60 followers maybe in a week, depending on the time you invest in your profile.
In order to be able to post in a Topic, you must follow it first. Also, make sure to read the Topic rules before you post. They are usually pretty basic and intuitive. You’ll come to find Topics like Threesome or Amateurs, which basically explain what type of content is expected there. Depending on the moderator, there will also be stuff like: face must be visible, don’t share content that’s too brutal or gifs and pictures only. That’s why it’s important for you to know what to share and where and avoid having your content removed for not following the rules.
If you don’t find a Topic that suits your interests, you have the option to create your own. This is an opportunity to maybe discover other people that share your kinks. You can create up to five, but keep in mind that once created, a Topic cannot be deleted anymore. You can also apply to become a moderator of a certain Topic you fancy. To do that, you must post at least 20 times in that Topic and when you reach that number of posts, you’ll see a button below the rules that says Become a moderator. The existing moderators will decide whether to accept your request or not, so why not reach out to them first?
Sharesome was designed to work around your busy daily routine, so we created some features like scheduled and queued posts. What do these mean exactly? We allow you to plan ahead. You’re going away this weekend and somehow there is no internet connection at your destination, or you just want to relax and not think about work and stuff. You can opt to schedule your posts over that weekend, by selecting an exact date and time when you want them to be shared.
Alternatively, you can upload several pictures/videos/gifs and choose to have them posted one at a time over a certain period (i.e. every 20 minutes, every two hours or, like antibiotics, once every 12 hours etc). Thus, you can keep your fans happy and satisfied even when you are away.
Our recommendation regarding the frequency of the posts, especially the ones in the same topic, is to share them at least an hour apart. With that in mind, we encourage you to post on a daily basis and to not shy away from using the queue/schedule system. Alternate pictures with clips and gifs, even just text, to figure out what works best for you. Add a relevant and compelling call-to-action to your posts to invite people to follow your page and check out your paysites. This will make your posts more personal and people will be drawn to engage with your content.
3. Flame credits and how to use them
Flame Token is the native currency of the Sharesome ecosystem. In order to allow instant and free transactions between users, we are implementing Flame Credits. Rewarding content creators is a critical aspect that we wanted to cover on Sharesome, and for this reason we decided to implement this tipping system based on the Flame Token (Flame Credits). Upon signing up, each user receives a small amount of Flames that they can spend tipping posts and messaging stars. The main goal we wanted to achieve with our tipping model was to reward content owners, while at the same time giving back to the community to maximize network effects and user engagement and making a reasonable benefit.
As a Verified Star, you can gain credits from the tips received to your posts or by replying to messages from your fans in 48h. Furthermore, keep an eye out for contests that we sometimes organize. The prizes almost always consist in pretty nice amounts of Flame Credits. You can use these Credits to boost your profile, in order to reach more people and become even more visible on the platform. You are also able to give tips to fellow stars that you like.
4. Special features
Unlike your usual social media platforms, Sharesome allows you to add a link to one of your paysites that you choose from the Links tab in Settings, below your every post. In other words, you can promote and drive traffic to your paid content. This way, you provide an opportunity for the public to discover all your work. It won’t just boost your traffic numbers and your SEO ranking, it will also bring in the type of visitors you want to attract. If you have a paysite that is not yet listed, you can contact us and we’ll help you out.
A new feature that we’ve added recently is the option to login with Twitter and along with it, the possibility of sharing your content on Twitter at the same time you’re posting it on Sharesome, just like you’re able to do on Instagram, for example. This is another great way to let your followers on Twitter that you’re on Sharesome as well, and vice versa.
If you find your content uploaded by someone else, you have two options: either request to take it down, by emailing us at legal@sharesome.com, or just tag yourself using the tagging feature and receive up to 90% of the Flames sent to that post.
