A great start to the New Year!
Hello Foodies!
I hope everyone has had a good start to the New Year. While I know that terrible tragedies have happened worldwide, I also know that much has been good. I hope you find yourself in the latter category as this new year gets into swing.
The pub has been humming along despite some interesting times in Medium. Nobody really knows what happened, but many of you may have noticed a drop in views and earnings sometime around January 7th and after. The only official explanation from Medium is that it seemed to coincide with an effort to get rid of hundreds of thousands of fake accounts and AI bots that had infiltrated the platform.
They claim that they didn’t alter the calculations for paying writers, so it’s hard to say what actually happened. From my own personal experience, though, it seems like things are coming back a bit in the past few days, as I have been making more from my stories than I did all month. So, hopefully, things will get back to normal soon.
