PRE-MEDICAL don’t leads to DOCTORY only!!

The true purpose of career is to make minds, not careers

There is no lack of career options for a science student after completing 12th grade. There are so many career options to pursue.

The major advantage that science students have over arts students is that they are eligible for science as well as arts subjects — a privilege not available to students from commerce and humanities backgrounds.

It is not essential that you can only be a doctor or if not a doctor, then only be a teacher. You should not be dishearten if you don't get admission in MBBS or BDS. A degree in science will open up a variety of job options for you. For illustration, whatever subject you have studied, you have a chance to become a research scientist in your specific field.

A degree in biology can lead to a career in fields such as biomedicine, agriculture, environmental conservation, food and drink, horticulture, genetics, and marine biology. You can choose a career as a biologist, biochemist, microbiologist, biotechnologist or zoologist etc.

A chemistry degree can lead to a career in different industries like pharmaceutical, manufacturing, petrochemicals, healthcare and specified job containing analytical scientist, medical scientist, chemist, pharmacologist, forensic scientist, and toxicologist.

A physics degree can lead to a career in various sectors like automotive, aerospace and defense, computing, communication. You can become a physicist, nano-technologist, medical physicist or astrophysicist.

Mostly the students that have exceptional grades in tenth standard are couraged to choose science as major but it’s not right. The common reason for students to dread science according to me is the way it is being portrayed.

Science is a way of life but it’s being projected like it’s only for toppers which creates a fear among students as a tough subject. They should choose subject according to their interests. From an analysis it is being suspected that:

All these field mentioned above requires good grades. I would like to give a short description of all these fields for your ease:

Biomedicine is theoretical medicine. It is a branch of Medical Science which studies human body from theoretical positions. The results of research in Biomedicine are modern drugs, deeper understanding of the nature of illness, and more advanced knowledge about human body (for example, aging processes).

Agricultural science is a broad multidisciplinary field of biology that encompasses the parts of exact, natural, economic and social sciences that are used in the practice and understanding of agriculture.

Environmental science is the study of the effects of natural and unnatural processes, and of interactions of the physical components of the planet on the environment.

Food science is the basic science and applied science of food; its scope starts at overlap with agricultural science and nutrition and leads through the scientific aspects of food safety and food processing, informing the development of food technology. The Institute of Food Technology defines food science as “the discipline in which the engineering, biological, and physical sciences are used to study the nature of foods, the causes of deterioration, the principles underlying food processing, and the improvement of foods for the consuming public”.The textbook Food Science defines food science in simpler terms as “the application of basic sciences and engineering to study the physical, chemical, and biochemical nature of foods and the principles of food processing.

Genetics is a branch of biology concerned with the study of genes, genetic variation, and heredity in organisms.

Oceanology is the study of the physical and biological aspects of the ocean. It is an important Earth science, which covers a wide range of topics, including ecosystem dynamics; ocean currents, waves, and geophysical fluid dynamics; plate tectonics and the geology of the sea floor; and fluxes of various chemical substances and physical properties within the ocean and across its boundaries.

Other professions can be:

A biologist is a professional who has specialized knowledge in the field of biology, understanding the underlying mechanisms that govern the functioning of biological systems within fields such as health, technology and the environment.Biologists involved in fundamental research attempt to explore and further explain the underlying mechanisms that govern the functioning of living matter. Biologists involved in applied research attempt to develop or improve more specific processes and understanding

Biochemists study chemical processes and chemical transformations in living organisms. Biochemists study DNA, proteins and cell parts.

A microbiologist is a scientist who studies microscopic life forms and processes. This includes study of the growth, interactions and characteristics of microscopic organisms such as bacteria, algae, fungi, and some types of parasites and their vectors. Most microbiologists work in offices and/or research facilities, both in private biotechnology companies as well as in academia. Most microbiologists specialize in a given topic within microbiology such as bacteriology, parasitology, virology, or immunology.

Bio-technologists strive to understand the workings of biological organisms, from the genes at the molecular level and the processes occurring at the cellular level, all the way up to entire organisms and how they perform their functions.

As they gain understanding, bio-technologists are also tasked with putting this information to use in various ways that can enhance the lives of people, which can include making hardier crops, developing better bio-fuels, or creating new medicines or treatment plans to fight disease.

A zoologist is a scientist who studies animals. Zoologists are experts on everything about animals, from their cells to the history of their evolution.

All these fields require a little bit practical knowledge as well as the lab work and if you are not provided with it ,then take help from multiple social media platforms.

So, my friends before choosing any field, have some research about it and wisely take that decision and invest your mind in it rather than listening to others or money making mindset before choosing any field.

Sharing is Caring!!
