Lets Borrow A Brain!

People are willing to help us. Alas, we don’t understand it

It’s not like problems don’t exist in our lives. We are smart, capable and great hustlers but that’s definitely not the issue here. Despite our best efforts, somewhere deep in our hearts, we know things could and should be better.

So how about asking others for help? We all can get a little funny when it comes to requesting help. It becomes a relatively tricky task to request support from people we know and work with. We all have trouble asking for help a lot. But why?

The major cause for staying stuck rather than reaching out is fear. The fear of being found out. It’s a feeling we all know too well… We also believe in ‘perfectionism’ of knowing things. Either we know all or we know none. And if we don’t know it all, we know next to nothing. Requesting for help makes us feel vulnerable.

Asking for help should never mean we are incompetent or incapable. It, however, should be a part of life we all need to be more comfortable with. When we start believing that it’s not just ok but indispensable to ask for help, we develop a true sense of support and empowerment in our lives. Also, the discomfort we feel about asking for help should pale in comparison to the fear of never finding an answer.

So, whenever you have problems, borrow a brain. Would it sound unnatural to someone tipping him off? Probably not. Will you be needing it? Yes, you definitely will. After all, it’s just impossible to work in the vacuum. Isn’t it?
