Happy New Year Sharpe followers! We thought we would kick off 2019 with a Service Fee Payout announcement. In Q4 of 2018 we worked around the clock to release number of new platform features and most recently our Sharpe Centuri Android application. We are currently working on the HFT algorithm, with a number of tests and evaluations taking place, with this in mind and continued focused on our platform, we are delighted to announce another service fee payout — the first for 2019. We will release a broader Sharpe status update later in the month, sharing some of the trials and tribulations we’ve faced and successes we’ve seen during deployment of our HFT strategies, along with our plans to grow and develop the Centuri Sentiment Index over the course of this year.

As of this month, we now have 12 months of user sentiment data for every asset in the S&P500, and all our analysis indicates that our central thesis — first espouse in our white paper, that markets are predictable through effective use of crowd-wisdom, was entirely correct. We can conclusively show that there is a segment of the population, not necessarily based on skill, education, or demography, that can consistently call the market much better than random. We’ll be sharing more of this insight in due course.

January’s service fee payment has now been calculated and will be distributed to all eligible users within the next 48 hours. Please note this month’s service fee payment is limited to the fixed $10,000 USD pool with no discretionary payment. This is because we do not yet have liquidity on certain Ventures investments that had been expected, that would provide us with the discretion to do so without reducing the available liquid assets for use in our HFT development and to maintain our equities positions. It would not be in Centuri users’ interest to diminish Sharpe’s earning potential over the next quarter any more than necessary, particularly with so many exciting developments in the pipeline.

December service fee payment statistics:

Each Centuri user will receive their share of this months $10,000 service fee payout within the following 48 hours. *Note: A high reputation score, increasing your SHP stake and lots of correct predictions, will maximise your share of the monthly service fee payment.

• A maximum of $1.66 per correct prediction was paid out this month
• An average of $0.06 per correct prediction was paid out this month
• The accuracy of the top five users was between 52–76% who made between 1166–2042 correct predictions. $0.08 was on average the amount received per correct prediction.
• 16 users earned greater than the average payment per user of $76 this month

We will continue with the Prize Draw in 2019 — in addition to the monthly and quarterly payouts, every Sharpe Centuri user with more than 500 SHP, will be entered into a Sharpe Centuri draw for the opportunity to win a share of 10,000 SHP.

Terminology recap:

SHP stake averaging:The average staking takes a time-weighted average of SHP held throughout the snapshot period, for all wallets linked to the Centuri account.

Snapshot, a summary of the Centuri prediction data between two dates. The snapshot details the overall performance (reputation scores, correct predictions) and the total amount to be paid out per user.
