Shavington Clean Team: Clearing litter from Wessex Close Park
On Saturday 15th July, fourteen members of the community joined forces to help clear litter from the streets of Shavington, focusing primarily on Wessex Close Park.
This was the second meet up of the Shavington Clean Team who are a group of volunteers passionate about keeping our streets litter free. At the first meet up we split off into pairs and covered the main streets of the Parish, at this meet up we focused mainly on Wessex Close Park and the surrounding streets.
It was fantastic to have new faces join the Clean Team this time, both young and old, and we hope this continues for subsequent events.
In a little over an hour we had cleared the rubbish from the park, mainly from around the edges by the fence and beneath the hedges, and made our way back to the Village Hall for a cup of tea and biscuits.
Thank you very much to all involved this time, especially Cllr Rene Hancock who is Chief Organiser of the Clean Team.
Would you like to get involved next time?
We will post about upcoming events on our Shavington Online Facebook page — visit it here!
