Shavington Clean Team: Tidying up Wessex Close Park

On Saturday 23rd September, nine members of the community (plus a dog) joined forces to tidy up Wessex Close Park — this time not only focusing on litter, but also on clearing leaves and dirt from around the edges of the playground.

This was the third meet up of the Shavington Clean Team who are a group of volunteers passionate about keeping our streets and parks litter free.

It was fantastic to have new faces join the Clean Team this time. It was especially great to see it become more of a family event with the addition of a little girl and dog who also did their bit by carrying bin bags and sticks!

In little over an hour we had cleared the rubbish from the park, swept away the leaves from around the edges and bagged it all up ready to take away.

Thank you very much to all involved this time, it’s wonderful to see the community come together to help make our community a nicer place for all to enjoy. Look out for updates on our next event.

Would you like to get involved next time?

We will post about upcoming events on our Shavington Online Facebook page visit it here!
