The new ‘Shavington-cum-Gresty Community’ identity is designed to be a focal point for the community and anything community related; whether it be online on Facebook, on our new Shavington Online website (currently https://medium.com/shavingtononline) or via our quarterly newsletter.

If you live or work in Shavington-cum-Gresty this identity will become the place to go to when you want to find out about upcoming events and news in the community. If you are a business or organisation who run events within the Parish we will be happy to publicise them on your behalf.

For up to date information, we recommend you follow us on our Facebook Page (www.facebook.com/shavington) and Twitter Account (www.twitter.com/shavonline).

I run an organisation/business in Shavington-cum-Gresty, how can I make use of the new identity?

  • Tell us about your upcoming events and key details by visiting http://bit.ly/scgevent. We will then endeavour to publicise it across our social networks and in the relevant quarterly newsletters.
  • You can submit articles to our community website using Medium. We’re not looking for direct adverts, but would prefer information around events and stories which are about your business/organisation — for example: how the local pantomime is coming together, how and why you started your business in Shavington-cum-Gresty — the more visual the better. When we put our quarterly newsletter together we will take some of the best articles online and include them, so that people without internet access have access to a selection of the best articles too.
  • The logo and brand used as part of the ‘Shavington-cum-Gresty Community’ identity is free for you to use to advertise local events which are taking place within the Parish boundary. The Clerk of the Parish Council must approve requests for use of the identity for events which take place outside of the Parish boundary.

I am a resident in Shavington-cum-Gresty, how can I get the most out of the new identity?

  • You can become part of the community online on our Facebook page. If you have questions about our community, you are free to post questions on our Facebook page and we’ll do our best to help you find an answer.
  • You can check out the latest news and events via our community website which can be found at https://medium.com/shavingtononline. This will help support local organisations and businesses.
  • Whenever you see the Shavington-cum-Gresty Community identity, whether it be on online adverts, posters around the Parish or in the quarterly newsletter, this is the identify events as related to Shavington-cum-Gresty. Show your support in the community by promoting events to friends.

The whole identity is currently managed and funded by the Parish Council but as it moves forward we will be inviting members of the community to become more involved too.
