The flight attendant came by row 14 and asked me to unplug my charger as the cord was a safety issue during takeoff

I knew this, and considering I used to be a flight attendant I should know better.

The flight attendants flying deadhead, in uniform, whom I’m sitting cozy between in the middle seat were too polite to mention it… yikes, how embarrassing.

The middle seat is never ideal but when you fly standby as a former airline employee you don’t have the luxury of selecting your seats.

I’m lucky just to have a seat in this fully packed sardine tin.

I’m heading to Honolulu, my daughter’s semester is just about over and I’m travelling out there to help her back with all her luggage. Eight bags to be exact.

It’s a bit of an inconvenience flying out from the torrential rainfall of Vancouver to Honolulu, but I suppose I’ll survive…

Onwards to 85 degree weather.

Only 15 minutes into the flight we’ve hit turbulence.

Time for a funny story… when I was a brand new flight attendant I forgot to lock one of the cupboards in the galley. As we were seated and buckled in during strong turbulence the cupboard flew open…
