“No matter where you are in the world, you are at home when tea is served.” — Earlene Grey

Karak chai, also known as chai karak or karak tea, is a beloved beverage in the Gulf region of the Middle East.

A delicious cup of karak chai can be made with just black tea, cardamom, evaporated milk, and sugar. It is different from masala chai, which includes a variety of spices like peppercorns and cinnamon.

This tea is wonderfully rich, strong, sweet, and creamy, thanks to the evaporated milk.

A couple of years ago, we had the pleasure of savoring this delightful tea paired with some exquisite pastries when a relative graciously hosted us at his office in Dubai Mall. This thoughtful gentleman manages a popular store in the mall. It was such a refreshing escape from the hustle and bustle of the mall.

It’s simple moments like these that leave the longest-lasting memories.
