Sheffield Chamber of Commerce has welcomed a boost in new members following a re-launch of the business support organisation’s offering and structure.

The refreshed and redesigned offering from the Chamber, which includes Premium Partner status, was introduced after conducting substantial research and listening to feedback from members.

The new service-based membership package enables businesses joining the Chamber to choose a membership level that suits their business package and is already attracting firms keen to forge links with other organisations, boost employment and training opportunities, and build a stronger presence in the city business region.

Richard Wright, Sheffield Chamber Executive Director, said: “Our primary aim is to support, grow and connect Sheffield businesses and the membership package has now been developed further to ensure it remains fit for purpose.

“This re-branded, re-structured membership package is service-based, rather than on the number of employees, and, as a result, offers a more current and accessible service that can be tailored to any business.

“It has already been very well received, with members joining at the Premium Partner level after seeing the benefits it can bring to their business.”

Premium Partner is the highest level of Chamber membership under Patronage, and provides members with exclusive access to senior level policy and representation to ensure businesses are at the forefront of developments across the city region.

New members joining the Chamber following the re-launch include Yorkshire Wildlife Park, Efficiency North Limited and ProAktive.

Chris White, Events Manager at Yorkshire Wildlife Park said: “Yorkshire Wildlife Park and Yorkshire Wildlife Park Foundation are delighted to be Sheffield Chamber’s first Premium partner. We are keen to maximise our membership, forging links with prospective partners and clients in the Sheffield business community.”

Liz Butcher, Corporate Development Manager at Efficiency North Limited said: “We saw that becoming Premium Partners of the Sheffield Chamber would be a great opportunity to get involved in the wider local business community and have a stronger presence in South Yorkshire.

“Efficiency North is also a membership organisation and we share the Chamber’s ethos and core purpose of working together for the benefit of all.

“We hope that becoming a Premium Partner will raise awareness and understanding of our activities in housing in the Yorkshire and Humber region, build links with other organisations also committed to supporting local communities and boosting employment and training opportunities, and help us upskill our own workforce.”

Sam Leeder, Commercial Sales Manager at ProActive said: “As part of our increased investment in our offering to the Sheffield market we feel that partnership with Sheffield Chamber is fundamental to our success.

“We have worked with them for a number of years and really felt the new Premier Membership could offer us something over and above what we’ve experienced before.

“We’re looking forward to accessing new services and undertaking some joint marketing activities and joint events.”

Sheffield Chamber’s membership offer is available to all new members, and for existing members renewing in January 2017.
