Sheffield revved up by major investments

INSIDER MEDIA — The Sheffield City Region is to take opportunities worth £1bn to MIPIM, backed by its largest ever private sector delegation and buoyed by a string of major inward investment projects by the likes of McLaren and Boeing.

Eighteen sponsors will travel to Cannes as part of the delegation next week. They include ARUP, Coda Studios, DLP Planning, Extra MSA Group, Harworth, Henry Boot, Turner & Townsend and The University of Sheffield.

The trip to the French property festival comes just weeks after McLaren Automotive revealed it will open a new purpose-built facility (pictured) at the University of Sheffield’s Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre (AMRC), and Boeing has committed more than £20m to a new production facility.
