What an amazing event! Organizers with Rotary District 5060 and the Kamloops Youth Exchange Program put together a dinner with three of the Youth Exchange students in Kamloops earlier this fall. The students prepared a meal from their home country to serve at the fundraiser — meals from Bolivia, Italy and Czech Republic were enjoyed. The students worked hard at the event, selling tickets, cooking, serving food and promoting the Youth Exchange program.

Dedicated ShelterBox Canada Ambassador, Marjolein Lloyd, traveled from Kelowna to present at the event by setting up a ShelterBox display and providing an informative session to those in attendance.

Over $3,500 was raised from the dinner and Devon O’Toole, one of the District 5060 Youth Exchange organizers, had a chance to speak with the students and asked them how they felt following the event.

He said one of them started to cry with joy because how well they felt raising funds for people that have just went through a life changing experience.

One of the students said,

“You see and hear what Rotary does with Serving Humanity, but actually doing hands on work like a project like this I have a total different respect for Rotarians. I feel so good inside.”

Thank you so much for your support to ShelterBox Canada! You are truly changing the lives of families around the world.
