Thankful for you on Giving Tuesday

The ShelterBox Canada team is positively overwhelmed with the generosity received on Giving Tuesday.

Every year, following Black Friday and Cyber Monday, Giving Tuesday takes place and is the “opening day of the giving season”. It is a global movement for giving back, and ShelterBox Canada participated again for the 2017 year.

This year, we challenged our supporters to triple their gifts for suffering Rohingya families.

Four incredibly generous donors offered matching gifts of up to $10,000 and Giving Tuesday also happened to be the final day of eligibility for the Government of Canada’s matching program for the Rohingya crisis.

With this combination, donors were able to triple their gifts — and everyone went above and beyond our expectations.

We not only hit our goal of raising $30,000, we surpassed it by raising over $34,000!

Through the action of our supporters, 64 Rohingya families will receive life-changing ShelterBox aid, and they will know that they have friends in Canada who care for them during their bleakest days.
