Note for MIT Media Lab “Reality Editor”

The project “reality editor” from MIT Media Lab uses augmented reality to connect different digital devices together, change the functionality of one controller to control anything you want by linking them together in AR.

Even thought the project is not completely about affordances in AR, but I do find some interesting perspectives in which it allows users to use the existing physical controller, e.g. dial to control another devices. The major interaction of the project is to linking/dragging a line between two IoT devices, which is a bit like IFTTT’s logic in the backend, that using one event from a device to trigger another even in the other devices.
