Sheprd August Update

You’ve now come to expect this, but I promise it’s STILL true: this has been our busiest month yet!

We have hundreds of rides booked for September (some parents have even scheduled rides for the entire year!), we’ve made some huge new hires, doubled our fleet, and updated the app!

Did you forget to schedule rides for next week?
There is still time!

Just last week, the Sheprd team met for lunch in preparation for the upcoming school year. We’re growing so quickly though, that this team photo is already out of date! Be on the lookout for a new photo soon with our two newest team members — Taylor as Junior Developer and Kate as Marketing Manager.

We are adding more Land Rover LR4s to our fleet to meet demand and we need your help to name them! Our current vehicles are named after dogs (Pluto, Clifford, Balto, and Toto); this makes it easy for the kids to remember which car they need to get in. What do you think our next four vehicle names should be? Email me; nick@sheprd.us with your ideas!

You asked and Sheprd delivered — did you know you can now track your child’s Sheprd ride in the app? In the most recent update of the Sheprd App, we added a few new features and squashed some pesky bugs. To track a ride, simply select the “En Route” tab in the “Rides” section and select the ride in progress. You will see the current location of the vehicle, the start and end point, as well as any other stops the vehicle needs to make (to pickup or drop off other passengers).

At Sheprd we love hackathons and design sprints in order to accomplish a lot with limited resources. Earlier this month, we were incredibly fortunate to be selected as the SUBJECT of such an event, in The Ad Club’s 2017 Brandathon Competition. This is an incredible program that selects just 10 startups (from a pool of hundreds of entrants) and in just 72 hours, a top ad agency has to come up with creative ideas on how we can improve our brand. We were lucky to make the cut, and even luckier to be paired with the ad agency Racepoint Global. They gave us some fantastic insights so be on the lookout for a steady Sheprd re-branding over the coming months.
