Sheprd March Company Update
Since we last spoke, our new company has grown a lot. We now have three full-time employees; the most recent of which, Dan Mitchell, came all the way out from California! I could not be more thrilled with the quality and passion of talent attracted to solving K-12 logistics with Sheprd.
We’ve also moved ourselves! — from LearnLaunch in Seaport to a new co-working area called SPACES on Newbury Street in Back Bay. SPACES is right next to the Hynes Convention Center T-stop, so think fantastic commuting access. The building was recently renovated and desk-space is very affordable (kinda the perfect combination). Let us know if you’re in the area and we’d love to see you!
Heading into April, we’ve got a lot on our plate as we plan to launch service to our first partner, the John M. Barry Boys & Girls Club of Newton. The energy around the office is palpable and whole team is counting down the days to seeing Sheprd vehicles on the road, driving happy kids from A-B.
Of course, all of this involves a lot of planning and set-up; just this week we purchased and outfitted our new Land Rover SUVs with all the necessary equipment to be certified as a School Pupil Transport Vehicles.
On the technology side, next week we will be unveiling our completely redesigned and updated sheprd.us website (so grab your last screenshots of the existing one now!). That’s right. New Website. Get Excited. But leave some excitement in the tank because, drumroll… we will also be launching the first version of the app later this month!
As demand for Sheprd grows, we are going to need more drivers. If you, or someone you know, is interested in applying to be a driver for Sheprd, we’d love to hear from you! And you (or whomever you know) can fill out our application online here. For those folks not yet having a 7D Certificate, we can help with that too!
Lastly, we are getting more active on social media, check out and follow our facebook,twitter, linkedin, and instagram pages. If you see content you like, please share with your followers so we can increase our audience. If you have any ideas for content you’d like us to cover — please let us know!
