Kt McBratney is the cofounder and chief brand officer at OwnTrail. A builder of non-bullshit brands she’s a marketer, strategist, connector, visual artist, toddler mom and borderline book hoarder who is obsessed with disrupting the status quo.
As a fellow female founder in the trenches fundraising for SheTransacts (now WeTransact) seeing their headline on my husband’s Facebook feed was a real inspiration that came at the perfect moment in my own journey. About a year ago I probably would have not reached out to Rebekah on Facebook as I had been previously burned multiple times by collaborations, partnerships or lack of follow thru of fellow female founders, investors and VCs. My personal experience in the startup world of women was quite different from any other female mentor or relationship in my life.
It made me think- why was this? and how could we foster a new cooperative way to partner together at SheTransacts? Instead of thinking OwnTrail was a competitor fundraising, I chose to invite them in and be and ALLY to us ALL. I’m so grateful I did!
