Whitesmith is a product studio born in Coimbra in 2012. We validate, design and build products that connect the physical and digital worlds together. Using knowledge of user experience, business and tech, Whitesmith helps other businesses develop cutting-edge products while envisioning to spin-off their own, as a way to have an impact in the world.

We really enjoy participating and doing our own hackathons. It’s a great way to level up our abilities and learn new things, that’s why we’ve been supporting Shift APPens since day 1! This year, besides sponsoring the event we prepared a challenge and the traditional Quiz that you guys enjoy so much.😎

The Challenge

We recently launched a spin-off in the blockchain area called Blocksmith! To celebrate this achievement, we thought that wouldn’t be a better opportunity to do a blockchain challenge. 🎉

We will challenge all Shifters to create a distributed application using blockchain technology. You don’t need any prior experience working with blockchain, we will provide all the tools and support you’ll need to build your smart contracts and dapps.

If you are wondering about the prize, this year each member of the winning team will receive an Arduboy! Arduboy is an open platform for people to play, create and share games. Built on the popular Arduino software, it’s also an excellent way to learn how to program! Because you can learn to make your own games
