MyEtherWallet integrates the BitBox02 hardware wallet
You can now use MyEtherWallet (MEW) with the BitBox02 Multi-edition. MyEtherWallet is one of the most popular web wallets that allows you to send, receive and manage your Ethereum and ERC-20 tokens. Now you can interact with the Ethereum universe safely using the BitBox02 hardware wallet.
Why use a BitBox02?
The BitBox02 securely stores your Ethereum private key, so it never touches your computer. This is a safer option then using a “hot” wallet where the private key is stored on your computer. In addition, the display on the BitBox02 lets you securely verify your receiving address. This is safer than verifying it on your computer because malware on your computer could change your receiving address unknowingly, resulting in you sending your coins to an address that doesn’t belong to you.
The BitBox02 has seamless integration with MyEtherWallet thanks to the BitBoxBridge. The BitBoxBridge is a lightweight background application that lets your BitBox02 securely communicate with your browser, and thus MyEtherWallet. It will only communicate with trusted domains, such as myetherwallet.com. Simply download the BitBoxBridge to get started.

Getting started with MyEtherWallet
Pre-requisites
- A BitBox02 Multi
- Download and install BitBoxBridge
Step 1: Setup the BitBox02 Multi
If your BitBox02 is new, set up the device by downloading and installing the BitBoxApp and following the in-app instructions.

Step 2: Install the BitBoxBridge
To use web wallets such as MyEtherWallet, you need to download and install the BitBoxBridge. The BitBoxBridge is a program that runs in the background and allows the BitBox02 to communicate with web based wallets.

Step 3: Start using MyEtherWallet with the BitBox02
- Go to myetherwallet.com. Click Access My Wallet then Hardware.
2. Select BitBox and then BitBox02.
3. Unlock your BitBox02 by entering the password on the device.
Note: If your BitBox02 is already unlocked, this step will be skipped.
4. When using MyEtherWallet for the first time, you will be shown a pairing code. Confirm that the pairing code on MyEtherWallet matches the code on the BitBox02. Then confirm on the BitBox02 and select Continue.
Note: You will be prompted with a pairing code whenever you use the BitBox02 with a new browser or computer.
5. Now select the account you want to use and click Access My Wallet.
5. Done! You can now use your BitBox02 to send, receive and interact with Ethereum and ERC-20 tokens.
Safety tip: Always check the URL. The MyEtherWallet URL should be https://www.myetherwallet.com/
