Doug Belkin, Higher Education Reporter at The Wall Street Journal, appeared on Bryan Alexander’s Future Trends Forum to discuss pressing issues at the crossroads of education and technology.

Belkin has been in the journalism industry for two decades. During his time at the WSJ, he has moved up from a National Reporter to a prominent Higher Education Reporter. Doug focuses on emerging technologies, the value of education, and the gap between the academy and the labor market.

During the live video chat, Doug shared his expertise on the major forces reshaping universities’ sustainability and discussed campus mergers and closures and the role technology can play in making colleges more affordable.

Attendees were given the opportunity to pose their own questions to Doug in the final 20 minutes of the session.

Future Trends Forum is approaching its second year with 72 events aired, and the level of guests and topics continue to expand.
