Anyone who’s been in crypto since the 2017 ICO bubble will agree that social media related to crypto currencies belong to their own special category.
After all, crypto-twitter is a thing right?
For ICO-startups, who should spend all their money and primary focus on software development FIRST (what’s the long term value of a utility token if it’s not going to be used anywhere?), there is a big dilemma:
How to keep investors informed about the progress, while actively managing a whole bear-market driven set of emotions, and first and foremost ensuring compliance with the local regulatory framework?
Difficult.
Therefore Shipchain Inc. co-founders made a hard decision in 2018 to close the official Shipchain Telegram channel, most probably triggering in the process an unjustified but understandable wave of fear of an exit scam.
Since that event, Shipchain Inc. has focused its external communications around few pillars: Shipchain’s Blog, where notably 2 AMAs were shared in July 2019 and January 2020 and Twitter & Instagram to relay announcements. There are also a Youtube channel, a LinkedIn page and subreddit with arguably less frequent updates.

But where can I meet and exchange with other SHIP token holders without being told off: “no price talk”?
Well, there is a place! And you’re one click away from meeting a great and (to date!) healthy community, administrated by 4 SHIP token holders who built, over time, direct and regular (daily) contacts with Shipchain co-founders and Senior Devs. 3 admins also run Validator nodes on the network and belong to the Shipchain Preferred Operator Program.
Last but not least…
On good days, such proximity with the Team team gives them a hint of what Shipchain is really up to… but
