Vienna is one of the best cities to celebrate Christmas in Europe!

There were 10 christmas market, all located right near each other (or one, a train ride away). I actually don’t remember which was which, because there were so many. But six lesser ones are:

AKH (Weihnachtsdorf)

Votivkirche

Freyung

Hofburg

Stephansplatz (has a cathedral that you can climb up! in the center of the downtown ish area)

Karlsplatz

and four more notable ones:

Belvedere: located in the front yard of the Belvedere castle, which is magnificent and worth a visit itself.

Maria-Theresian-Platz: located near the Rathaus and a decently large Christmas market, in the middle of some of the lesser and smaller Christmas markets.

Rathaus

Schonbrunn: This one is a bit out of the way, since you have to go a couple stations on the subway to get there. But the castle comes with a nice tour that shows you the riches of the Austrian empire, and entrance into the magnificent garden in the back. I say garden, but it’s really just practically its own city. The area is huge and even has a hedge maze!
