England: Oxford

Oxford is another top destination for the Harry Potter fangirl/boy.

The Hogwarts Dining hall was filmed in and modeled after that of Christ Church:

The dining hall at the time was closed for students taking tests.. but the stairs to the dining was still viewable! This is where McGonagall brings the first years in for sorting.

Then the divinity school is used for the hospital wing of Hogwarts. The library here is also supposed to be the Hogwarts library, but you have to be on a tour to see it, and the tour left too late ):

Then all the cloisters for all the buildings are just very harry potter-esque!

And in New College, I got to see THE courtyard of Hogwarts where Malfoy gets turned into a ferret. I’m glad my friends sort of shared my enthusiasm for Harry Potter filming locations because that’s all we saw.
