Cinque Terre means five lands. This area is composed of five different cities built on the western coast of Italy. The beauty of the region is the colorful building villages on the very edge of the coasts. I stayed in the middle of the five cities: Corniglia.

The interesting (horrible) thing about Corniglia is the death stairs that you have to climb up to get to the city.

There isn’t much to do in the city except eat at small restaurants, but they did have a basil fair recently and I tried basil ice gelato, which was surprisingly good!

I woke up early to make the most of my time there.. but I was told that it would thunderstorm and wasn’t expecting to get a good photo. I wanted to go cliffdiving, but that was not going to happen.

But surprisingly, the weather cleared up and from Manarola, I was able to get the perfect photo! With my ipone6, too.
