Today was a clear day, of course, because I wasn’t hiking. Such good luck with weather, I had.

I arrived back in Nelson, and it really was good to be back with civilization! Stephen picked me up and took me to see the Jens Hansen workshop, where they produced all the One Rings that were used for the Lord of the Rings films, and probably also for the Hobbit. They had numerous different designs that they had made.. from different band sizes to different metals. The one that was really used to film the ring falling was a HUGE one that weighed 2.4kg and could sit on my head like a crown. Stephen asked about the places that I visited in Takaka, and I was really disappointed to find out that I had missed one really amazing place that I could have visited: pupu springs! It is one of the cleanest sources of water, and there is a mirror installed so that people can see from the bottom of the spring. Sigh. Next time!

I bought some good old subway to eat for dinner while Stephen went out to go work, and I fell asleep watching some more movies.
