How does computation applies to my interests?

I love creating and making things from zero to one to solve real-world problems and make people happy. I also realized that we all live in an interactive digitalized world where technology is part of our life and affects the way of communication. So I have been thinking about how to apply computation as a tool to make something fun yet to functional to help people solve some problems. I have lots of ideas and it is time to realize it and make it from scratch!

Besides, I used to work for VR, AR and kinect projects as a business specialist. I was neither designer nor programmer but was impressed to see some interactive magic happens by writing codes. We used to be the suppliers of the kinetic project, Rain, displayed at Changi airport in Singapore, which amazed me but I want to make something more interactive to provide introspection for audience, not just entertain them. I want to down to the bottom of everything to see how thing made and become a magician myself so that is why I started coding.

Last but not least, writing is always the way to express myself but I have been looking for a vivid and tangible way to express my mind, experience and consciouness. Computational media is absolutely the right tools to help.

My very first sketch by code.

Drawing manully by code was not a easy job as you need to be very detailed on the point (x,y). I called myself ‘the labor of point’ as I have spent lots of time on it. Mostly I applied custom shape, curve, beizer and arc because I wanted my work looks smooth. I also spent lots of time to figure out how to close a curveVertex shape as it didn’t work after I input ‘endShape(CLOSE)’. However, the color did fill the whole shape so I simply thought it was a bug.

It was interesting to apply different types of shape to draw this piece although it was all manual work. But I am happy to see I finally did what I wanted it to be originally. Please leave me any comments if you find out there is an easier way to draw this piece. Your help to save my time will be highly appreciated.
