  • Tons of new items: Trident, Scute, Heart of the sea, Nautilus shell, Turtle shell, Phantom membrane, Buried treasure explorer map, Fish buckets & more.
  • New structures: Shipwrecks, Icebergs, Underwater ruins, Buried treasure, Underwater caves & Coral reefs.
  • New biomes and a new “Buffet” world type.
  • Data packs! (More info below)

Data packs

Exclusive to Java Edition, data packs can be used to override or add new recipes, loot tables, advancements, functions, world structures and tags to the game.

Data packs are similar to resource packs and are created in a similar way. Data packs can be created in the datapacks folder inside the world folder for your singleplayer or multiplayer world. Within this folder, each data pack is stored within it’s own folder containing a pack.mcmeta file that lets Minecraft know that the folder is a data pack and a data folder which contains the modifications.
