Gayatri, my 20-year-old daughter, purchased these sandals yesterday. She sent me a picture of them from the store before she got them.

I asked her to put them on and walk in the store with them on before she paid for them. I didn’t like the strappy strips and thought they might pinch her.

She went on to purchase the pair and got home.

When she got home, she noticed that she couldn’t put the sandals on.

The right one had a strip at the back that interweaved with the one in front of it, making it impossible to pull the stretchy back strap behind one’s heel.

My daughter hobbled around, apologizing to me for not trying on the shoes in the store.

She said, I couldn’t try them on. In the store, they had some plastic, magnetic thing in between them which didn’t allow me to try them on until I had paid for them.

I thought that since she had paid for them, she could have tried them on in the store after billing!

Now, she’ll have to go back to the store and return the shoes.

The cost of these sandals is ₹299, or $3.58. A trip to this store, which is 10 km or 6 miles, would require gas money of about ₹92.15, $1.10 (this is for a diesel car purchased…
