The history of Downtown Phoenix is nothing short of amazing. From Hotel Roosevelt to (something), the City of Phoenix strives to preserve the city’s past. And, at times, that means a little role playing from the buildings. Hanny’s, what was once the “go-to” fashion store for men 70 years ago, is now the hot new hangout for sophisticated phoenicians and visitors of downtown. However, the department store didn’t just make the jump from shopping to dining.

Upon re-opening their doors to the public in 1989, Hanny’s sat vacant for a few years. The building became a popular place to torch up in flames, acting as a training ground for local aspiring firefighters.

The bar has become a hit for Downtown Phoenix. A place where walks of all kinds come and relax for a drink after a long hard day.
