John Deere is possibly the most notable brand in the world of agricultural and farming. Deere’s legendary logo is recognizable to almost every consumer around the world. The company was started in 1837 in Grand Detour, Illinois. John Deere, the founder and namesake of the company, was a blacksmith and investor by trade. It was through his own imagination that Deere sought out avenues to improve the processes of farmers throughout the Midwest. Deere’s first invention was a polished-steel plow that allowed farmers to cleanly and easily cut furrows throughout the Midwest’s stick-filled fields. The tool proved useful to many, and the company slowly but surely grew through the years, adding many new inventions along the way.

Throughout its 180-year history, John Deere has continued to develop machinery and tools for the agriculture industry. John Deere has become a global company, both selling and manufacturing its products across the entire world. The company has survived many downturns in the farming sector because of its push to deliver automated and essential equipment to the modern-day farmer. As of 2012, John Deere has had record-breaking financial years. Net sales and revenues were $36.2 billion and net income $3.1 billion in 2012 and things only continue to look up for the company.

John Deere has experienced great success ensuring it was a forward-thinking company. Its founder and first inventions started the trend, and in 2017 it continues to hold true. John Deere has a strong social media presence in which the company displays a uniformed brand throughout. The company has a Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, and LinkedIn page and many followers on each account. Each of their social media pages provides interesting and heart-warming content that surely speak to their target audience. The company displays a confident and cohesive image through its media, movements, and mission.
