Behind The Scenes: Saturday February 7th, 2015
I feel so lucky to have worked with some truly wonderful couples while on this journey photographing the love shared between two people, and the trend continues with Julie and Jason.
From the first moment we met, I felt very comfortable and relaxed with them, so I knew it was going to be a good working relationship. We bonded over our love of cats (this was mostly Julie and I), and playfully began cracking jokes at one another’s expense almost immediately.
Now this winter has been relatively tame by Canadian standards, but when Julie suggested we do their engagement shoot in February, I may have cried a little on the inside. For this adorable couple though, I put my personal dislike for snow aside and I’m really happy we did!
February 7th couldn’t have been better weather-wise. We were able to leisurely spend the afternoon capturing some really great photos, rather than rush the shots for fear of suffering from frostbite, and the tolerable temperatures allowed us to really have some fun and let these big personalities shine. What I’m referring to here would be Jason’s spontaneous rendition of a Journey classic, and Julie’s explanation (as Jason tossed her over his shoulder), that when she ‘asks to be carried, this is how it’s done’.
I hope from the bottom of my heart that my second shooter Roman and I were able to convey the fun and love that these two share. It was a pleasure….here are some of our favourites from the day, we hope you enjoy!
