Losing Customers & Attracting New Ones

It’s difficult to not feel defeated when business isn’t progressing as planned. Day after day we try various strategies and see what sticks. However despite the many articles highlighting the “5 amazing steps on how to be successful”, we don’t often look at failure as a form of success. It can present a valuable opportunity in the process of elimination.
So how do we make the next move? A few things we can do are to look back at the goal, revisit the data that supported our decision and list the reasons why the results were unsatisfactory. For every customer that is lost, an opportunity will arise to understand three things.
- Is my product or service useful to that customer?
- Is the timing right? Did they need it at that moment?
- *Most Importantly: Why did I execute that strategy? (what information lead me to believe this would be successful?)
So this goes into the thought of where are you receiving your information? How are you organizing it?
Information can be found through publications, earnings reports, trade shows or your own neighborhood. Use them all! Together they can provide a real-time look into the direction of your market and consumer behavior. Are there trends to be found and if so, how can you tap into them?
All in all, don’t be discouraged. Success is the product of many failures. What we’ve found building ShopKetti is that by trying often, identifying mistakes and discussing them, and listening to the businesses that have put their trust in us, enables us to provide an exceptional service. There will be high times as well as low, but we look forward to the continued experience of both.
