June is National Safety Month, so be prepared! Our top three home safety essentials will help you make sure that everyone in your household is prepared to handle common hazards.

First Aid Kit

Be prepared for minor emergencies with a fully-stocked first-aid kit. Every member of your household should know where to find basic medical supplies in the event of unforeseen cuts, scrapes or allergic reactions. Make sure that your first aid kit also contains the important medical details of everyone in the home in case the moment arises when information like blood type or allergies to medication needs to be relayed to medical professionals.

Fire Alarm and Extinguisher

Offense is the best defense, so before you get ready to pull the pin on your extinguisher, keep your home fire alarms in working shape with fresh batteries that are tested regularly. That said, every member of your household should also be familiar with where you keep your fire extinguisher (and how to use it) in the event that dousing a flame becomes necessary.

Cabinet Locks

Keep firearms, alcohol and dangerous cleaning chemicals out of reach from prying eyes and hands with solid locks. Only the adult members of the house should know where to find the keys to your safety cabinets, and children should never have access to weapons or caustic chemicals.

Be Prepared

Avoid common household dangers by being prepared. Our three safety essentials will help your whole family have a safe and secure National Safety Month.
