Since 1989, September has been National Honey Month to celebrate all that bees do for us (as well as the beekeepers who tend to them). Give our favorite natural sweetener the pomp and circumstance it deserves with four of our favorite honey storing and serving accessories.

Serving Dishes

Back away from the squeezy bear, Booboo. Cheap honey is often highly processed (oftentimes with high fructose corn syrup) and lacks the beneficial pollen that makes the real deal so special. Instead of passing that plastic bottle around the breakfast table, opt for some of the upmarket stuff and spoon it into individual serving bowls for a classier (and healthier) way to get your honey fix.

Jars

Did you know that honey is the only natural food that never spoils? Take advantage of the eternal sunshine (and save some serious cash) by buying your favorite local varieties of honey in bulk and then keeping some small hinged-lid jars on hand for when you need to come up with a quality gift in a pinch.

Honey Dipper

Designed to distribute honey exactly where you want it, a spooled wooden dipper is an essential piece for the honey aficionado’s cheese board. Use it by dipping the end in honey and then twirling the dipper until you reach your plate — the grooves in the bulb keep the honey from dripping so long as the dipper continues to spin.

Cheese Board

Put it all together with a serving platter that does your favorite local honeycomb justice. As an alternative to over-processed desserts, consider an after-dinner board featuring cheeses, dates, nuts and seeds, all drizzled with a high-quality honey that will satisfy even the staunchest sweet tooth.

Honey, have we got some products for you.
