What is Shoppr?

Shoppr is being built with one aim: to streamline how you shop.

We’ve become accustomed to dealing with retailers on their terms, allowing them to control the relationship. They choose when to communicate with us, how often and what subject; from how they process payments and refunds, how you should be rewarded, to how they send receipts and offers. As online shopping has grown in popularity, this has become an increasing burden on you, the customer.

We think it’s time for a change. There should be an easy and flexible way for you to communicate what you want from retailers; whether it’s better prices, less notifications, different rewards or greater personalisation. We want retailers to work around you, not the other way round.

Email is the predominant, direct channel of communication between you and the retailers you buy from, and now accounts for 97% of traffic to your personal email address. That’s why we’re getting started by making the inbox a better experience for shopping.

Shoppr gives you the option of linking your existing email account, or having a new (“name@shoppr.co”) email account to share with companies.

Shoppr then has three initial focuses:

Getting all correspondence into the same language

We standardise all the communications you receive from retailers to make it easy to find what you want. Whether it’s order tracking (which we embed into the app), finding order details, customer support or the last correspondence, our vision is to make sure everything you need just one click away.

Removing the noise

Every day we are inundated by companies emailing and interrupting us. Sometimes we opt out, but sometimes we don’t because, well, FOMO. We also find it difficult to digest what companies are trying to say to us because 10 emails arrive at once, all in a different format. So we’ve built a notification blocker that gives you the power to decide who can notify you (all shops or a select few), what they can notify you about (orders, offers or generic emails) and when they are able to notify you (when they want to or you want them to).

With our AI engine, emails are sorted into three buckets which you can decide to turn on or off:

  1. orders (things you’ve bought and all the correspondence relating to an order),
  2. offers and deals (removing all the jargon and clearly stating what that offer is),
  3. generic emails (these are usually random correspondence from companies)

Rewarding you

Believe it or not, almost every credit card company, social media platform, browser, and even supermarket collect your data and sell it. Yet none of this value is really passed back to you.

By consolidating your purchases we are giving you control of a dataset that everybody wants, but nobody else can build, and in turn, unlocking the power to earn from your spend. This is flipping the narrative, today google has a walled garden built on your data set, Shoppr gives you your own walled garden.

With “Login with Shoppr”, you’ll be able to securely share some of your information with your favourite brands in exchange for greater rewards or personalisation. For example, you could share your shoe size so the retailer can automatically show you shoes available in your size. Or if you’ve just bought a pair of black jeans from one shop you can share your purchase details with another in order for them to show you matching tops. Our aim is to put this power in your hands, not other companies.

Oh, and did we mention that we reward you with Shoppr tokens into your wallet for every purchase to get you started?
