We haven’t had a prompt in a while.

But that’s about to change.

It’s time to unleash your creativity and write the most mind-bending thriller you can think of in twenty words or less (excluding titles and subtitles).

Will it be about a mysterious newcomer to a small town?

An unexpected phone call in the middle of the night?

A detective on the trail of a crazed criminal?

Or will it have a clever plot twist that keeps everyone guessing?

The choice is yours!

And as always, the story with the most claps in response to this prompt will be added to the Short Shorts Featured list at the end of the month.

Don’t forget to link to this prompt when submitting your piece so we know to include it in the count.

We look forward to reading your twenty-word thrillers!
