Friday 11 December, is International Mountain Day — an appropriate time to share the news about Mount Everest. I’ve never climbed a mountain, nor do I intend to as I suffer from vertigo and loathe cold weather.

If you’re planning an expotition* to Everest, I should warn you it’s a whole yard higher.
